This program is a rare combination of laughs, fun, and education. You’ll laugh, you’ll be moved, you’ll go away hopefully a little more enlightened about an important issue than when you came in. It is a night of comedy and poetry which brings artists and public health professionals together. Poets bring stories of women living with HIV in Edmonton and offer critical vision and encouragement to people through their stories. Comedy for the night focuses on de-sensationalizing sex and mocking sexual shame to ease harm reduction work. The idea is to bridge the gap by sharing stories, and in so doing reduce stigma, educate the public while we raise funds.
